Roleplaying

I've been telling stories since I was old enough to talk, writing since I was in kindergarten, and roleplaying since I was in high school. My biggest weakness with RP, I think, is detail. I write so much more detail when I'm flying solo!

I started out in anime-based RP and I shudder at the memories of the one-liners and mary-sue characters. Yikes. Graduated to cheesy vampire stories, where I gradually improved my roleplaying skills. Currently in more contemporary, less fantastical settings, with the exception of Harry Potter. For reasons I can't entirely explain, I've always been drawn to Maurader's Era Potter.

I love plots that involve explosions and conflict. I want to trespass, spread lies, skip class and set things on fire. I want to have tension-filled interactions with ex-flames and goofy times with best friends! I love romance, and after over ten years of RP I have finally started properly shipping. I am not particularly interested in ERP, however.

I love RP that encompasses a certain degree of bildungsroman, as I love explorations of identity -- gender, sexual, religious, political, social, cultural, etc.

I used to write over 300 words per post; I currently tend to write between 100-300 and I am far happier not counting out every word.

I enjoy IMing my partners as that means I can better gauge your interest level, as well as bounce around plot ideas.

Shoujo manga: Weakness for titles serialized in Ribon.

Music: I listen to everything, but my favorite artists tend to be indie pop, ska, dreamgaze, baroque pop, chamber pop and dance rock.

Books: I'll read most anything put in front of me, but my favorite authors are JRR Tolkien, Oscar Wilde, WH Auden, CS Lewis, Dorothy L Sayers and Tennyson.

Dancing!!! All parties ought to have a dance floor. Good dance music is a plus. Also, concerts are both for bragging rights about seeing a cool band and dancing to that band's music.
